Section 48
Victims' Relief Fund should be established
: (1) A fund called Victims' Relief Fund shall be established to provide medication, interim compensation and relief to the victims of crimes.
(2) Addition by Act, 2079 to amend some Acts relating to criminal offenses and criminal procedures for offenders who have been fined in accordance with the court's decision or who should be imprisoned under the Criminal Code. Fifty percent of the fine paid for imprisonment without imprisonment shall be collected by the Government of Nepal.
(3) In addition to the amount to be deposited in accordance with subsection (2) in the fund as per sub-section (1), the amount provided by law or the amount received from the Government of Nepal or from any other source shall also be deposited.
(4) The operation of the fund under sub-section (1), the classification of the victims, the basis of the relief amount to be given to the victims from the fund, the extent of such amount and other procedures related to the distribution process shall be as prescribed.
(2) Addition by Act, 2079 to amend some Acts relating to criminal offenses and criminal procedures for offenders who have been fined in accordance with the court's decision or who should be imprisoned under the Criminal Code.
